Lower Seletar Reservoir - Sea eagles favourite haunt

While relaxing in my living room, I spotted a white-bellied sea eagle yesterday at noon hovering above the reservoir near my place. I saw it land on a bare tree. Shortly after, another eagle was spotted soaring in the sky within the vicinity.

Only after downloading the photographs, I discovered there were at least two more eagles perched on the top of the tree.

And the flying eagle scared the other birds away like all raptors do. I think the small birds were swallows and mynahs common in my area.

In the evening, I decided to go to the Lower Seletar reservoir to do more bird watching. It has a newly constructed pier, jogging track and a mini water feature for children to play.

And i did spot a couple of sea-eagles, probably the same ones I saw earlier in the afternoon. One was chasing after a little egret in the sky. Another one was swooping down to grab a fish with its talons. See it swoop down and then soar up in the sky again? It doesn’t dive its head into the water.
