Whitby,North Yorkshire.

Again, putting piccies on blog. Not many birdy pics, but they do need ID’ing lol.
I’ve added a few of the stunning area as well, hope you like them.

2-very quick along the sand,quality not good!sorry…

9-Abbey from Lighthouse

10-Swallow landing

11-swallow “keeping still!”

Both swallow pics are heavily cropped as they were quite high up! Again quality not the best.

Yes Jane, they had a pot of tea, with milk in them little jugs. They strolled over to look out over the beach, only gone 2 mins, when a Gull flew down onto the table and started to drink the milk out of the jug! Linda told me to shoo them away, but I was reaching for the camera! lol.Anyway by the time I'd got my camera ready, the couple had started to come back,so I done what most men do....Pretended to get up and "shoo" him!! It was so funny,of course Linda was "telling me off" for going for my camera first! lol.
You know what they say" you only get 1 chance to get THE picture"!!
The couple were non to amused,He was going to com plain to the waitress & ask for new milk, but they left it un-attended,AND they are by the coast. Its not the birds fault, now is it???

Welcome to Yorkshire Rob .. so glad you went Friday and not the day before you d not have seen much between the rain and sea fret.

An awful lot to see and hard to know where to go first on a day visit esp after negotiating those Abbey steps .. not so bad going down them lol

Aye the gulls will snatch things from your hand if not careful so an empty table just too much of an open invitation .. glad you got some lovely shots and thinking of a return visit.

LOL to the milk tale Rob !! Golden rule number 1...NEVER leave food or drink unattended whilst visiting Whitby !! Packets of crisps are known to have taken to the skies..never to be seen again !!!

A lesson we learnt way back when in weston-super mare.We had just bought our first born an ice cream, and a gull came down and took the cream straight off the cornet! That was 27 yr ago!! Never forgot it,never will!! lol
