And for something completely different

For some reason, the birdie front is very slow, so I have been ‘playing’ again. Nothing to do with birds, just a little trial of a new technique, on the right subject it comes out great. So heres a few samples. I hope you enjoy them.

This is a normal straight from the camera unprocessed

This is the processed RAW image. got the details back into the shadows

This is after a little playing and bringing out incredible detail

Tried the effect outside too

Another example

And a third

I have also added to my close up library. Here’s a few to look at

Looks like you've been having fun AT. I'm not feeling very numerate tonight but I like the one before the final butterfly.

Rob, I used luminance HDR, merged 3 different exposures (1 correct, 1 over by 2 stops and 1 under by two stops) and tone mapped them into a Jpeg. Then I used photoshop and a plug in called topaz to make the final tweaks. On a larger size, it's incredible the amount of detail it produces.

Thanks for the reminder AT - I downloaded the Topaz trial bundle some time ago but didn't install it. Have now installed for a 30 day trial.

I love the third train picture fabulous colours. That one reminds me of one of those pictures in the computer games where you have to find the list of hidden items.

As for the close up flower - that would make a great canvas print.

Brilliant!

Mmmm - like um. :0)

Fabulous shots Alan, all of them. The close-ups are stunning and the church shots have the effect of being artist's paintings. Love them.
