A walk at Westport

By

This was last night with Alan. I took my trusty 500mm zoom but Alan looked like he had robbed the local photography shop with what he had with him.
He was also keen to walk through the woods which with a 500mm is hardly the best place to be. However I decided to try some “distant” flower shots since the sun through the canopies was giving some effective light. All shots were at least 15 feet away and I hope you not only enjoy them but recognise, though not great, even the wrong equipment can give pleasing results if you try.

THERE WERE SOME BIRDS ABOUT :-)

Fabulous set Mike, see I told you the wood would be better than the lake !!!!!

Had another look now that I'm awake.

Some nice pictures; you seem to have caught the late evening light perfectly. I know less about flowers than birds but I like the thistle head (?) and love the action shot of the snail. Detail in #4 is superb.

More lovely pics, Mike. I believe the plants are Himalayan Balsam, Ox-eye Daisy and Teasel (the thistle-like one).
