Many Thanks

I would like to thank you all for your comments on the blog and the pictures, both really are appreciated.
In reply to Mikes comment on the blog concerning RAW images I would say that the option is available to record both RAW and jpeg simultaneously. There are RAW software programmes that are very simple in fact I have been using mine for six months now and I haven’t read the instructions yet.
I would suggest that the point is not the 4000 shots that Mike makes in 11 days but the one shot. The one shot, a very rare bird. You only got the one shot before it flew away but the exposure was way out and you took it as a jpeg. All that money spent on a camera that was capable of recording on RAW but you opted for jpeg and the shot was binned.

Do you have to convert RAW to Jpeg to post on this site or can you reduce the RAW file size as you do with jpeg?

I am not aware of any site that can accept RAW images it seems when finished working on them you have the option to convert to jpeg or tiff. Using the Nikon converter I have no facility to downsize a RAW image and I can see no reason to do so. The picture of a Blackbird that I uploaded yesterday was a jpeg of 1.38mb. This had converted with one click of the mouse from a RAW image of 9.53mb.
