South Downs.

Come for a walk with us.

A view of Portsmouth(Portsea Island) with the Isle of Wight in background, taken from the car park.

Common Carder Bee and Marmalade hover fly.

Small Skipper which is very similar to the Essex Skipper I put on the other day except the tips of its antennae are orange and black rather than black in the Essex.

Cinnabar Moth.

Six spot Burnet moth.

Dandelion clock.

Small White female.

Small White male.

Lords and Ladies -(Cuckoo Pint) – Arum family.

Red Admiral.

We usualy have our picnic lunch in a shady spot at the bottom of a lane called Widley Walk.On the way back up the hill we were stopped in our tracks. “Who left the gate open?”

That was a fabulous blog. I was waiting for the going back photos. :0) I was actually going on that walk with you - what a brilliant concept of a walk and the excellent photos. from the walk.

I think that will be one of those blogs that when ever you re read it you`ll always remember the first time you read it and where you were and what you were doing because you went on that walk with you.

I`ll go walking with you anywhere anytime - a masterpiece of a blog.

I am glad you enjoyed the walk Jane,it is one of our favourite spots and only a short drive for me,the insect life at the moment is just great but we can do with a bit more sunshine to bring them out.Eric
