The first Tufted ducklings of the season.

Dive! Dive!! Dive!!!

It was quite comical watching these march up and down, there over 70 Canada Geese at the moment.

And to end the stroll before I go home for a nice cup of tea,the Barnacle Geese.Hope you enjoyed the walk.

Super blog Eric. I will be down your way at the end of the month heading to the IOW for 6 days in my Motorhome. Then off to Brighton for another 6 days. Any special birding places we should visit on the IOW?

I have often wondered why the geese gather in such numbers. This morning I met a fellow birder who gave me the answer, they come to moult in a safe environment. It was as simple as that.

Marvellous pics, Eric. Gr8 to see the Tufted ducklings, and so many Canada geese, too. Yes, the last pic, of the lovely Barnacle Goose, is especially wonderful!
