The colourless Mandarins

I guess now that the courting is over and the “deeds” have been done – our friendly neighbourhood males see no reason to keep their colours so bright.
I caught a Mandarin taking a bath and though compared with most he is still very colourful – compared with, say, March – his “just painted” look has seen better days.
The last one illustrates best what I mean.
