Robin Fledgeling (and a Dunnock)

This morning 6th June I was attending to the essential work of removing some Ivy around the base of a 20ft Christmas tree which is in my front garden. As luck would have it my camera was handy fitted with a 150-500mm zoom lens as I had laid it on the lawn along with some other gear which had to be taken into the house when I had completed gardening.

A Fledgeling Robin suddenly hopped into view and I was able to grab my camera without frightening it. I don’t think it was scared in the least as it hopped around with gay abandon for the next 15 minutes. He posed in almost every possible position and I slipped my camera into 7 frames per second mode and took almost 400 photos of him.

It has just taken me 2 hours to whittle them down to about 100, the remainder of them being consigned to the recycle bin which is a shame because almost without exception I was proud of 90% of them but space is at a premium.

I thought I would share 16 of them with you and also 2 of and unsuspecting Dunnock who hopped by
