No Escape

They have taken over…

keep an eye out for those big birds

make way little ones

do you think we will get a nice quiet bathe..

no chance…
It has been so entertaining watching the most starlings that have ever visited our garden but…please let me know when I can expect a lull…..they are eating everything before others can get a chance….

They seem to have taken over large areas of UK this year.

like locusts when they land....nothing left when they leave....funny how there is no sign when the food has all gone but within minutes of putting some out..starlings,jackdaws and pigeons descend....

Can hardly blame them LW with such great facilities available in your garden.Like you we get invaded and often hard to imagine that numbers are reported as dwindling ..

We used to have feeders with trays but removed them to prevent flocks of starlings congregating on them.It hasnt stopped them but certainly reduced the numbers and allows the smaller birds to use the perches.

We also make up dishes with a lard and seed mix and other extras .. they are complete fataholics and will at least concentrate on this whilst others seed feed. Not a cure of course and you ll probably have them with you till late summer as numbers here are swelled by foreign visitors and they begin to think of returning home prior to winter.

Aw well LW just think of those lovely roosting displays in autumn that you are helping to contribute to.

It could be a lot worse lol did you see what they did to Rome a few years back ?
