explosion of baby bluetits

First fine day for ages up here.Started on re-designing my wee burn into the pond, next thing Im surrounded by baby bluetits they were all over the place. We have two boxes of them.In one seven chicks in the other nine .The one with nine is still feeding in box so the next invasion should be soon .the last photo is of one which fell in the burn .Lucky it was not in full flow as pump is off .It was filled partially with rain water which we sometimes get in scotland.Pulled it out and none the worse for its first bath.

I love these photo's Mac t,how wonderful to be surrounded by them. I'm sure they'll get used to your pond. They'll soon know what to expect from your weather too :))

Sorry late to this lovely blog Mac .. some great photos here , they always make me smile when first fledged as those down turned yellow mouths make them look so grumpy.Cant blame them when just evicted for that warm nest to begin fending for themselves .. bless them.

Well done on rescuing the little one .. we ve done the same for starlings that get over inquisitive too.

thanks for the nice comments folks ,the other brood fledged on saturday.we caught sight of the last one or two emerging .checked the box today ,sadly two chicks dead in the nest.fully formed but very small.we saw one parent feeding them after they flew the nest,Ive never seen a more bedraggled worn out little bird in my life,it was so thin and dirty looking ,it deserves a well earned rest now .
