Three more shots taken at Eastney beach. A male Thick legged flower beetle just 1cm long. – The female which does not have the thick legs, plus a surprise when I processed this one, a minute Harlequin ladybird (I believe). – A Common Ground hopper again just 1 cm long and an unknown little one at the top of the Sea bindweed.

A drive to Creech Wood near Worlds End ( no we did not fall off) and a walk for me. After chasing these Speckled Yellow moths (a first sighting) I eventually managed a couple of shots. -and finally a Speckled wood. On the way back down the lane we saw the two Grey partidges

Fantastic pics, Eric (although I hope that the ladybird isn't really a Harlequin). I, too, think that the moths are beautiful.

There is the 22 spot ladybird which feeds on low vegetation and which has brown legs.
Another one of a similar colour is the water ladybird but this turns to a reddish brown colour in April.

Eric I've been away in France for a few days and still catching up with ISAB.

You have some really good shots here that are a pleasure to view.

I've read nothing but good about the Canon 18-55 std zoom and these justify those comments.

Camera went with me Eric but no bird pics after the Herring Gull at Dover. We were on a car rally with over 600 other cars of all ages and nationalities, centered on Laon but covering many kilometers of surrounding countryside.
