Bugs & Bees & Creepy Crawlies.

Over a four day period last week I walked along a short path at Eastney beach by the entrance to Langstone harbour. The first photo is the path and in the distance can be seen the Isle of Wight.

Ladybird – Parasitic wasp – Adult Green shield bug.

Common Carder bee – Red tailed bumble bee ( note pollen on leg) -Buff tailed bumble bee

Male Common blue – Male underwing – Female Common blue.

A new one for me this Yellow Belle moth. Upper – Underwing – Feathered antennae (about 8-10mm in length)

A Banded snail.

And finally a walk back to the car for a picnic lunch.Across the harbour is Hayling Island and central is a section of Mulberry harbour which never made it for the Normany landings during the second world war. In the far distance, the South Downs.

Fabulous photos and fond memories of the area from many years ago. What's happened to the Marine Barracks nowadays? The Gravediggers Arms (by the cemetry)...... ?
