loch doon osprey 1st may 2011

spent some enjoyable hours up at the loch today .weather was good for a change .birdspotted most of the time no sign of ospreys.shame, spoke to some local lads out walking ,they have not see anything either.its there opinion that it might have been a passing bird heading for africa and stopped over on the loch to feed end of last summer .hope not as i would love to see it returning and nesting in the area.the trouble is in the area there are another three lochs so it might choose one of them.think i will allocate a loch to each of my granddaughters to patrol .it will cost me a fortune in sweeties.have included some photos of the loch .

Thanks for those Mac. We are coming up to Scotland first couple of weeks of june. Up to Lommond then West coast up to Inverness then back down through Pitlocchry, Sterling etc.
So looking forward to it and the chance of different wildlife and of course that amazing scenery.
