Monday evening I answered the front door to my neighbour Bob who greeted me with “Got your camera!” Rushing indoors and grabbing it I met him standing in the road looking at the rear of the terraced houses where we live. At first I could not see what he was looking at, and then I saw it. What a Sight!! The light was fading and coming from a lovely warm house into the cold of the evening I suppose I had the shakes a bit, hence the quality of the photo’s.I went along to Bills house who’s pond the heron was interested in and was told that it had been around for a few days and he had scared it off.

Poor Bill, I hope his pond is well protected now !
Domestic ponds must be so tempting for them,we tend to go for brightly coloured fish which we can see easily. Unfortunately herons can too :(
Well caught Eric, shivering or not :)

good sighting and shot......I know from experience the patience they have and the devastation they can wreak....Cleared my pond of over 30+ fish...then came back and cleared it again a couple of years later.....now netted..
