world sparrow day

It is world sparrow day tomorrow…anyone interested hope this link works

I have three nest boxes very close together and all three are now being used by …..you guessed treesparrows.

We only have the one box used regularly by treesparrows but they ve managed 2 broods each year so guess we re both doing our bit for them.

Just counted Lw but only 6 today. Typical as at times over winter we probably had a dozen, I did mention this in the survey.
Still I suppose they are starting to look further afield now which is good.

got 10/12 aster....difficult when they on different feeders and hawthorns.... I have a photo from a year or so ago.....I will hunt it out and although not a clear close up gives an idea or numbers after fledglings appear

Lol....a nicer take over bid I couldnt imagine !! Will look forward to your photo from last year...plus lots hopefully this season. Maybe ours will have two broods again this year.I hope so...perhaps they will also use the couple of spare boxes too you never know. Isnt it all exciting !!!

Hmm...I agree.Seem to enjoy it more as each year passes Littlewren.Certainly longed for Spring this year after such a long and hard winter...and think the birds feel the same too...
