Starling training academy.

For Clarice – Agent Starling.

Good morning , as elected chairperson let me welcome you to the Starling academy .

You may have seen us marching across your lawns , flying in tight formations our aerial display teams are world famous ..It may seem like chaos when we arrive but its all part of our highly trained flying squad.

Only a select few million make it through training..be vigilant many would like to discover our top secret location .

Be very careful who you talk to ..carry on Sergeant.

Thank you sir .. right you horrible lot fall in !

Thats right lads keep things tight.. you never know who may be listening.

Sarge .. that blackbird seems to be hanging on your every word ..Really ? I ll deal with him you keep tight .

Oi you ll learn nothing here now clear off !

Now listen very carefully .. I shall say this only once..

When flying in formation its essential to keep your heads down ..you at the back eyes front !

I dont like this uniform its horrible grey look at yours .. wheres my mum ?I want to go home !

Stand to attention when I m talking to you .. and dont answer me back or you and your squad will be on a charge !

You and your big mouth …got us all in trouble square bashing all afternoon .No I wont help with those rocks ..

Right .. think you ve all learnt your lesson ? Yes Sarge !

So what have you learnt so far ? to keep our heads down keep things in tight formation and watch out for spies in the camp ..

I see one Sarge ..shoo sparrow we re on manouevres

Excellent work well done could have been part of the Red Sparrows formation team checking us out .. now meet up at the mess , we dish up 16.00hrs.

Right lads tuck in before the rest of the squadron arrives …I think I hear them coming Sarge ..

Thats why we call it the mess

Another good reason for keeping you head down lad ..

You again ? what have I told you about coming between the squad and their food ?

Well done Sergeant – excellent work.Takes me back to our Italian campaign , remember? where we both got our wings.

They say Rome wasnt built in a day .. but 5 million of us nearly buried it in one ! Happy days indeed .

We ve certainly been bombarded by them this year David ..with collared doves and wood pigeons breeding well and the rookery next door , a hat is an essential piece of kit in our garden.

Thanks for kind comment.

Thank you .. by their sheer numbers can either be upset that they seem to decimate everything put out for other birds or provide for them.

They ll hoover up most things so whilst fighting over the dish the smaller birds get a look in at the feeders.

Oh what a laugh! I've had to read it several times because it is so funny. Many years ago there were terrific aerial flights to watch but one soon learned not to look up when they were directly overhead. An eyeful reduced one to tears. My sister swears that was the reason she had to wear glasses at the age of 11.

Yes I think you've proved yourself worthy of your name BB! I'm so glad I joined although you can see I've already turned into a duck (albeit a male one) such is the effect it's having on me! It's great to have fun with our interests and I'd never have joined a 'serious' bird site. Same with GoY, other gardening sites are so stuffy and dull. Quack quack!

It might be a while before I sort out some decent pics to post BB, my photos are very disorderly!
Well what can I say....the Queen 10 miles in one direction, your brother 10 miles in the other, obviously it's a very select area!
