Paparazzi camped on my doorstep

By

I now know how the so-called celebrity class feel. I have had up to 20 camera lens trained at my house/garden for the last week. Fortunately they are looking at the waxwings in my garden not me! Non-the-less it is getting a little irritating now. Does anyone know how long I can expect them to stay?

Here are a couple of pictures I took this very cold, snowy morning.

I meant how long will the waxwings stay - not the twitchers!

How lucky to see the waxwings Allen .I had some last year and was told they will stay until they have cleared all the berries on the trees/bushes they are feeding on.So maybe the twitchers will have had enough before the birds eh! lets hope so.

Thanks littlewren - and thanks to everyone who has commented on all my photos. You are certainly a very welcoming community and should be proud of yourselves.

Thanks for your comments. The waxwings are still with me, there seems more than ever, unfortunately the twitchers are also still here and in greater numbers! I took a picture of about half of them this morning and posted it on my photos section.

I haven't seen the green woodpecker since the cold spell started - lets hope he's ok.

Hi Jane, I do hope the telephoto lenses leave by Christmas, they are definately annoying now. I have even taken to going outside and photographing them photographing the birds but it doesn't seem to bother them!

Lovely pics of the waxwings. Perhaps you could go out with a biscuit tin asking for donations for the RSPB? Would this clear them off?
