STOP PRESS:New Birdpedia category - WILDLIFE.

Following several members comments declaring an interest in wildlife in general , Ajay has created a new category for other forms of wildlife.

Whilst Ispyabird will remain a site primarily for bird lovers , hopefully the new category will add another dimension.

Perhaps like me you ve set off on a bird watching trip not got the photo you wanted but observed other forms of wildlife.Nice to think these could be shared for those who wish to ,with like minded members.

Look forward to your comments and of course the photos.

Have to thank Ajay , Aster we got there eventually but being a relatively new site poor guy has to filter through all suggestions ..think most birdlovers enjoy and respect most forms of wildlife.Sure you ll have some lovely photos to share.Always appreciated your details re - butterfly count for example.

Just about, here, too!! Had no heat or water for a week - restored last night. Travel to work took 3hrs each way, instead of usual 40mins - so ended up living in my workplace for 3 days last week, and 2 days this week (glad I work in a hospital, not a sewage plant, lol!!!). Kids had a full week off school, had to almost drag them back on Tuesday this week! They may well make winter olympic class tobogganists! Yes, big thaw right now! Am loving hearing the loud cracks, followed, seconds later, by the mini avalanches as the ice and snow drops from rooftops. Alas, like so many others, my gutters and parts of downpipes came down with it. Insurance companies will be wringing their hands, roofers and plumbers will be rubbing theirs, lol!! They will be adding, very nicely, to their "nest eggs" right now. XXX from us!

Lol David glad you got sorted and hospital sounds warmer than home , think even a sewage plant might be tempting ..there go the premiums again and suppose some areas will risk flooding if and when the thaw arrives.Spent yesterday clearing trellis up from neighbours garden as weight of snow had pushed over pergolas and arches.

Used to travel across moors to work in Whitby and got trapped there for a few days ..motorists got caught on the road a few days back and had to spend the night on it.Very remote in places with no buildings nearby.

Glad the children have enjoyed the break .. nice to think someone getting some fun from it .
