Hi,

I’m looking for a good ‘Bird Book’ (reasonably priced) so that I can put names to my pictures. It never occured to me before now, so I would welcome any tips on what a beginner should buy.

Thanks, Ken

Hi Ken
You wouldnt go far wrong with any of these:
The RSPB Guide To British Birds...this includes info on RSPB reserves...£6 99
RSPB Pocket Birds...which is described as perfect for beginners...£6 94.
There is also Collins Complete Guide To British Birds by Paul Sterry and priced at £ 8 84.
Hope this helps.....I have had the second one for a few years now...its very good...

there is a very helpful RSPB site online where you can identify birds.

Checked the site out, brilliant if you can't put a name to a beak. Thanks for that.

Just my luck! The book that I ordered is still on it's way, 11 days after being posted. Probably held up by the Christmas post and of course, the weather. There's been no deliveries on my road for the last three days and no traffic either.
