Six hours to wait for a train...what to do???

Six hours to wait for the train home, after attending a wedding in London. The wedding was a lovely occasion and the first outing of my new suit lol. My Girlfriend suggest we could spend the time looking around Hyde Park and maybe take the camera. Never been to Hyde park before but what a beautiful place of escape from the fast pace of life that cities always seems to have. Anyway took some pictures and thought I would share them.

A place to see Beautiful trees, reflecting the changing seasons

A place to offer your pets a sense of freedom and play

A place to ride

Exercise and share

A place to see birds and animals

And art

And still aware of what lies outside

I guess it left me feeling how important it is to have a place to escape too. How easy it is for me to step outside my door and within less than 10 minutes be surrounded by nature. How important inner city parks are for both people and wildlife.

Thank you Alan,it is good to have a little bit of the country in a city. You can't always get away and many regard this as countryside, especially the horse and dog owners :)
I can't think of a better way to while away a few hours,I'm sure you're glad your girlfriend didn't suggest shopping aghhh !! :))

Thanks for this Alan .. yes tend to take our location for granted as most wildlife appreciates it readily. These inner city spaces play a vital role and may be only place many get regular chance to unwind and get closer to nature.

Thanks Alan, brought back some memories from my first job at 15. I worked in Berkeley Square (no Nightingales) and spent most lunch hours in either Hyde Park, Green Park or St.James Park - no Rose-ringed Parakeets in those days mind !

I`ve never been to Hyde Park and to be honest am not a city lover. Sorry you city lovers out there.

What a lovely interpretation of freedom, peace and quiet in a city. This is a fabulous set of photographs Alan and tell a great story.
