Hi All,

I have hung it by a tree I have in the garden, but nowt!! Very frustrating…waiting with my Camera at the ready..nothing! Anyone got any tips??

Cheeky !!! :)))
Do you think it may be a little early, there are still other food sources available.Lots of berries and insects.
Also they need time to get used to something different in their area and maybe are just a little wary.
I'm sure once the temperature plummets they will be round in flocks :)

LOL Rob ! Must admit I wondered what to expect when I clicked on here !!

As Aster says there id so much out there on the bushes and trees at the moment. Our hawthorn is weighed down with berries..and dont even mention the ivy ! Last year the blackbirds were all over the lawn after apple windfalls but this year only a couple as yet!!
The fat balls are getting the attention of great and blue tits....but then these were reared in the garden this year...so its their territory anyway and they never left !

As Aster says...just wait until the weather starts getting colder......and the berry stocks dwindle........

Thanks peeps knew you would be first lol!! with that heading!!! Thanks for the advise, didn't give the other food sources a thought! I was blaming Buster(my dog) he chases birds out of the garden, apart from a bloody big crow, which sits on the wall watching him bark!I think he is thinking"If you don't shut up,i'll fly off with you"
I'll leave it there now its up.I'm sure I'll get a nibble soon!!!! ha ha !

Lol!!! My "laugh" for the day, Rob!!! :-)))

Can't suggest anything different from aster and jane. As yours is a recent installation, the birds might not yet have "discovered" it truly. They will be wary, and also of Buster, but, in time, they WILL come. In a garden I attend to, are several nut and seed feeders, and a lot of fat balls. They attract tits, finches, etc., and the stuff they drop brings in magpies, woodpigeons and pheasants. This is despite the fact that the owners have 4 greyhounds, who, when let out, tear around the garden like mad. Have never managed to get decent pics, so far. :-( Keep watching, and with that camera ready!

We keep the peanut feeders out all year round and there is no activity at all at the moment, as others have said - so much natural food. They will come, never fear.

If we have a breakage with a feeder and put out a new one, it doesnt get touched sometimes for as much as a week. Usually blue tits (no comments about the weather please!), and great tits are usually the first, sparrows next, and then after a good while, the green, bull and goldfinches.

Once they find them they will always be there, but like wise there is plenty of other food out there at moment.
