This does tend to be a quiet time for them Rob once breeding season finished.Typically from April to July once fledged , juveniles disperse to form own territories.

Apparently only get together during breeding season then quite solitary.Their usual food source of larvae and beetles should be in good supply now ..we most commonly see Greater spotted woodpeckers in winter and early spring on our nut feeders.

Green woodpeckers are more likely to be seen on a lawn during late spring / early autumn searching for ants or leatherjacket grubs.

Well, I've only spotted a couple here, briefly, but they are around, as seen in the pics posted. Many thanks, again, for providing valuable info, Bb!
